Bioart research exploring lichens, humans and the environment they share

A three-month residency at SymbioticA, the Centre of Excellence in Biological Arts, is a timely and transformative opportunity to develop my ongoing research project Symbiont, focusing on experiential engagement in wet biology practices on lichens and human body receptiveness. During this residency (April - July, 2021), I will focus on conducting cutting-edge bio-art research, which will equip me with the technical skills, scientific knowledge and digital materials that will ensure a successful outcome for the future Symbiont project that I will produce and exhibit in 2021-2023. At the intersection of art, science and technology, I envision the SymbioticA residency to be a pivotal point in expanding my professional development and networks as an environmental and multimedia installation artist.

"This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body."
